Malcolm the evil jester has broken free (if you want to know why he was imprisoned, see The History of Malcolm and Kallak), and he takes control over the source of all magic in the Land. Obviously he's not too fond of Kyrandia, so he slowly but surely starts to destroy it. His first target is Kallak, the leader of the Royal Mystics. We play the role of Brandon, Kallak's grandson who gets chosen to save the Land and his grandfather
This is a great game. Beautiful graphics, nice music and a reasonably good storyline. The story isn't very original, but then again, what is nowadays? There are a couple of things I'd like to mention though. After some time of playing it's impossible not to notice that there are certain very recognizable patterns in the graphics. Many locations look 'more than just a bit' alike. It's not a big deal, but these little details can spoil an adventure game. Another thing that really bothered me was the way Brandon picked up and put down objects. After clicking on an object, instead of Brandon moving towards it and picking it up, the object simply disappears from the screen and appears in his inventory. I guess there was no more budget for the animations
Apart from a few minor mistakes, this is a must have
