Well, our old pal -- Roger Wilco is back. In his
full VGA glory he's up to saving the universe again, without ever even
knowing what the hell the universe needs to be saved from not that little
details like this bother him too much After Roger gave the two guys from Andromeda a ride back home, he finally heads home himself. He decides to take a short stop in a bar to get something to eat. He ends up telling his story to two poor souls who are only too happy to listen to it (as long as Roger's buying the drinks). Suddenly two policemen come looking for him. The two guys take him outside, but as it turns out they want a little bit more than just to talk to him. Fortunately another two guys pop up and save our hero. Not so fortunately, they throw him into a time rip and he's teleported to Space Quest XII, so once again Roger faces the eternal question: Where the hell am I This is a strange game. Even though I've played it, I can't make up my mind if I liked it or not. The graphics are pretty nice, the music's okay (could be better, as usual) and even the story checks out fine. Time travelling, etc. sounds exciting, doesn't it? I think the problem is, that the game is really short and there are almost no puzzles in it. You get to travel in time, but every era has only a few screens worth of walkable space, so the solutions to the 'puzzles' are evident. I can only think of one time, where I had to think a little bit about what to do (and even then I didn't get stuck, I just had to pause for a few minutes). Well, anyway it's a nice game, the first icon based Space Quest (no type-in interpreter), so it's definitely worth seeing |
